Why is becoming indistractible the skill of the century? Johann Goethe, the German philosopher said, “If I know how you spend your time, I will know what might become of you.” You see, many of us lie to ourselves day in and day out. I certainly did. I would say I was going to exercise, but I’d skip. I would say I was going to eat right, but I didn’t. I would say I was going to spend quality time with my daughter, and yet I’d find myself getting distracted. I would say I was going to work on that big project and stop procrastinating, but I wouldn’t. Why do we keep lying to ourselves? You see, the problem is not that we don’t know what to do. Any of us can go search on Google if we don’t know the answer for how we can lose weight or live healthy or be more productive at work. The problem is that we don’t know how to stop getting distracted. This is why becoming indistractable is the skill of the century.
